Looking at buying a reasonably priced bike computer.

Not looking to spend more than say, $60 unless its got it all !
Need it to stop when I stop and start again when moving.
Log total Klms, daily distances and elevations etc.
Wireless and GPS if possible.
Easy to use is paramount.
Minimal setting up etc.

Is there anything else that's considered essential functions ?

The Garmin Edge 200 looks like a solid bet at $125 delivered.

Yah not too bad. Still after a bit cheaper, mate has the 500, god knows what that thing does.
Wll have a gander on ebay and anaconda, I like garmin though.
What are considered , good brands ?

I could be wrong, but i think the Garmin 200 is the cheapest thing out there with GPS. At least, that's why I got mine.

I think you can get a computer with all that you need with heart rate for less, but then you are dealing with wires and sensors on the bike.

Hunt around for a second hand Garmin 200.

Get a cheap Sigma wired computer because they are cheap and waterproof (I have had other cheap computers die in the rain) so you can see your current speed, rolling time etc and use a smartphone for Strava and the like.

You do not have to worry about a GPS stopping when you stop because most GPS software/websites (i.e. Strava and Endomondo) automatically calculate rolling and elapsed times etc.

If you do not want to do the above, a Garmin are really your only option.

Yeah, no chance of a GPS unit for under $100 new. Bryton's cheapest unit is the Rider 20 which goes for $129. Only other way of doing it for cheap is using your smartphone. Other than that I'd go for a Sigma unit without GPS.
