5th MT (little toe) stress injury anyone?

Postby UpDownUp » Fri Mar 01, 2013 4:52 pm

Hi, has anyone had any experience with a 5th metatarsal (ie little toe) stress fracture or stress reaction caused by cycling? If you have did you change anything as a result?

I recently had a foot MRI and it showed bone marrow oedema in the 5th MT. It's sore to press near the joint (MTP joint). I both cycle and run. I suspect running is the main contributing problem but wanted to consider the whether cycling could be the cause or a contributor too?

I think you will find this problem is due to running.

Cycling should be OK, within reason.
