I would reasonably assume that this is the Royal Star picked up at sparrows' fart from Winmalee, (ex gumtree), about 10 days ago. Paid sixty dineros, AFAIK.
Doesn't take some people very long, does it? Guess I'll put on watch and see how much is profited on it. Yes, I was ready to go and get it. no, was not intending to on-sell in 10 days. But that's the game, I guess.
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...

Maybe I was a bit harsh…I'll upgrade them to Frank Berto's definition of a "Standard Bike".

Late night email to seller :/

Dear blacktowncentral,

Hi, is this the bates that was on gumtree last week? Surprised to see such a collectable bicycle up for sale again so quickly.

...and the response this morning...

Hi there yes it is! I had no idea what it was until i picked it up. 58cm centre of crank to top of seat pole insert. Top tube 57 cm centre to centre it would suit a rider between 5 10 to 6 2 hope that helps cheers.

While it sucks a bit, he hasn't really done anything wrong. If the original sellers old it for less than its worth, there's no reason this guy can't come along and sell it for more....

Understood... of course. Just a comment on a bottom-feeder, is all. Venting a little helped. We may yet find Mr. Ob**d has done nothing wrong, technically. (just being silly here...)

"This vintage bike is in good condition for its age.

It does have some rust as you can see from the photos but I think this adds to the bike."

No it isn't, and no it doesn't. IMO.

Or - any commo that has wheels on it and not up on blocks.

Very probably the fastest Repco Preset on the planet

It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

Uuurrrg, sticking a two stroke on a pushy is revolting enough at the best of times but when it's coupled with messy wiring you gotta wonder even more than usual about how damn unsafe it's gotta be.

Agreed - I've reported it to Ebay as being illegal. As an absolute minimum the seller should disclose that it's illegal to ride on public roads.

My person opinion is that it's a death-trap.

Too right, especially if one of those dangling wires came loose and got caught up in a wheel at 60kmh+ .

Disappointing that people are doing this to Presets when they are actually quite nice bikes.

Regardless of niceness, they are low priced. Makes 'em the perfect base for an unscrupulous shonk who doesn't care if people get chopped to bits because of his desire to fill his pocket. Goodonyer for reporting it Hamster.

Motorised push bike are my pet hate, they scream up behind on the M7 cycleway and pass very close.Seem to be used a lot by people who have lost their licence.

just coz they're missing some teeth, smoke durries, have mullets, wear singlets, footy shorts and thongs, and ride to the TAB on a weekday morning without a helmet, does not necessarily mean they've lost their licence.
