On the couch, love it!

I'm not allowed to drink my tea on the couch, would need to be interstate before the misses got home for a bike, and that would just be for the head start to fly to Mexico or Spain for safety!

The bike does look comfortable though.

I am so in love with this bike, it is almost carnal! Almost.

My go-anywhere bike.
I'd just lifted it and all the bags over that tree before I took the photo.
This is my favourite bike. Had a Cannondale carbon Synapse (Sram Red). It broke. Got my money back. I hated it. Delicate, plastic, lightweight garbage. :P
Still own a CAAD9 (Cannondale), I have to, reluctantly, admit that I do like it, a bit.
This bike is tough.

New TT rig cobbled together after buying frame off Torpedo 7. Adamo seat already had on a road bike that I converted to a TT bike, same with cheap cockpit, disc wheel from wiggle when on sale, 808 front new but never used bought through another forum for a very good price, Quarq off another bike & Osymetric USA chainrings bought through a mate at a pretty good discount as well. Be interesting to see how it goes.

Thank my lucky stars i dont have red-green colourblindness.
Looks good, but does it need a little bit of adjustment in the seatpost(up) or the handlebar stem (down) ?

2011 Fondriest (alloy frame). Shimano Sora drivetrain, 9 speed cassette. New handlebar tape.

Not the original wheels, must have borrowed them from someone.
also seatpost and saddle have been "upgraded", the original seatpost was a "squeeler" so i replaced it with a $5 Pro-lite at a swap meet, but then had to get one of those hole in the middle saddles because it is hard to access the hex head screws.
Needs a beefier rear tyre with a bit more grip for the horrendous brisbane summer rain.

Mate, if you show up with that bike on race day, they'll call the whole thing off and just give you the medals to save everyone's time. At least that's what it looks like.

Unless is an optical illusion (which I doubt) the position of your shifters is ridiculously wrong.

guessing buy the size of the frame, the hight of the seat, and that the guy isn' 5 foot :) i prefer my handle bars like that also, stops my back hurting after longer than an hour rides :)

Knowing the way mr 6'4" Elantra goes up hills I'd say that setup is just right.

Best ask him to colour match the tyres and photograph according to convention though, I guess.

Here's one that almost but not quite fits into the vintage category these days. '05 De Rosa Macro frame with '08 Centaur Gruppo

Maybe 1905 but 2005 is still modern unless you are a 10yr old kid, then its a classic ! :D

Heh heh, I 'aint no 10 year old kid and I agree with you. I still think it's funny though how people now look at a 10 year old road frame (this one doesn't quite make it there) and think how outdated it is. The price of longevity since moving from steel I guess.

Must admit to this actually delaying my buy new bike lust. I am wondering how much is real and how much is some sort of peer pressure from this mindset. Then I wonder how much to invest in a bike. After all if I want too I can probably plunge to a $9k investment but will I want to replace this in 2,3,5 years? Still thinking

This is the dilemma,I have an avanti carbonio half alloy/half carbon(sounds like a dog biscuit) that I paid $250 for and it was hardly used, 2007 model, 105 etc and FSA gossamer cranks.
Goes ok but my bianchi that the previous owner stumped up $8000+ for is far better...
8 grand better ? I am not so sure as a recreational rider but it sure feels much nicer and comes down to what you're willing to stump up or have expendable.

For me, $2000 was my max and I am happy with the 928SL but was just as happy to ride my $250 second hand oldie.

So there's certainly a high element of fashion and peer pressure from my mates as both of them that I ride with have probably $15000 in their 2 bikes between them but paid full retail (mad buggers) but both have $150,000 jobs.

Suppose it depends what you're happy with. :)
