What you are supposed to notice is a well dressed lady on a bike in the middle of nowhere..not a common sight.

But whatever it isn't chic, it's OTT. It's a parody. It went too far. Seriously though, when I started I felt a bit awkward and worried about looking silly. I got used to it plus I naturally developed skillwise to look competent. Now I reckon I'd miss the toots and shouts on the way to places.
Most unicyclists would have similar doubts. So I occasionally get a group of riders together for day of riding around in busy public/ped environment, over less than straightforward but typical paths and generally hanging. They invariably swear that they have gotta do it again. I think awkwardness is the big barrier to unicyclists using their cycles more often. A pity as it does actually have a place for some people's needs.
