Hey,
I'm having trouble with my Fulcrum Racing 3's... the spokes of the front wheel keep turning so instead of being semi-aero, they're more like paddles. I occasionally turn them back straight again using the plastic tool that came with the wheels however after a few rides they're back to paddles again.
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Cheers
Troy

Would it indicate another problem with the wheel? Like under-tensioned spokes? or.. is it not unusual?

If the spokes are bladed you need a special tool to hold the spoke in the aero position while you tighten the nipple. Also, make sure you turn the spoke wrench past the point you're aiming for and then back off to prevent spoke wind up. If you leave the spoke wound up it will twist back the first time the front wheel hits a bump.

OK, thanks. I have the special tool (came with the wheels), which I've been using to rotate the spoke straight again, however I haven't been tightening the nipple as well as I wasn't sure I should (TBH I'm still not sure I should). The wheel has always run true but I'm not sure about the tension.biker jk wrote:If the spokes are bladed you need a special tool to hold the spoke in the aero position while you tighten the nipple. 've had this happen on mine and the nipple stays in the same place when you straighten the spoke and all that's happened is the aforementioned wind up is introduced.
The spoke may not even need tensioning, just turn the nipple to the same degree as you turn the spoke blade when you orientate then correctly. I

broke a spoke on my r3 front wheel two weeks ago,
it just snapped and the wheel went so out of true the bike could not be pushed
on saturday the same thing happened to the rear wheel but this time a tiny rear light uncliped off the saddle bag and must have dropped into the spokes
got them 11 months ago and they would only have done 3000 km,
i believe they have 2 year warranty but dont think they would be covered, especially not the rear, might have to look for replacement spokes, both breakes were just near the nipple
