Queensland > Victoria Point > Brown Sugar Cafe & Bar ... only one experience thus far with them (based on another we recommendation) and they were excellent, more than accommodating. Look forward to going back.

Queensland > Jindalee > Health Street Cafe (in Genesis Fitness Club) ... not sure how they'd go with a heap of riders turning up but! - Fiona & co. do a great coffee and the poached eggs & avo is pretty damn good too.

So be sure to wish her a happy birthday. My old world concept of chivalry and ettiquette dictates that I won't say how old. :D

As it happens, it is also my birthday - 61 yo. So if I happen to be there having a coffee you can just leave your credit card details and I'll get my own present - a GoPro would be nice.
Carron is a lovely lady so if you are there, be sure and follow up on this.

That's a long ride from Queensland, Colin. Happy Birthday to you both, though!

Time to revive this topic - has anyone noticed there are twice as many espresso places now ?

Stop16 has evolved to become U&I Espresso. Waterworks Rd, on the Ashgrove avenue intersection, bike parking off Ashgrove Av.

Cannot be beaten for smoothness and consistancy.

For when you're down the Gold Coast, you have Johns Cycles Coffee Shop at the back of the shop. You ride past it south bound and turn left and left again. 8)

Opens at 6am and they have food as well. Just sayin and no affiliation with them.

Belmondos in Noosa has some of the best coffee on the coast, and supply a track pump at their bike racks to encourage cyclists.

Strong winds this morning but the post-ride coffee was not adversely affected.

Yeah, I'm just picturing how much snot and road grime is gettin' rubbed off onto that slab of.... whatever that is!

Maybe it's more 'nutritious' than the animal fat that's getting smeared on it.

A relatively new place on the Redcliffe Peninsula at Clontarf. Just across the bridge under the second set of high rise apartments.
The Drowned Rat. Coffee is great and the girls are friendly and the view isn't bad either

Its amazing what a couple of coffees can do for a fella, hey Gary!

When I'm on the Gold Coast it is either Piccolo in Miami (they do an amazing banana bread with honey and yoghurt) or the Beach Shack in Currumbin.

In Brissie I usually end up at My Sweetopia in South Bank

A big +1 for The Velo Project in Mooloolaba. Stopped in there today and am glad I did. Great atmosphere, great staff and great quality food and coffee...

WhistleStop at Pimpama is another good one, friendly staff, quick service, good food (you can even share the bacon and egg roll) nom nom, and plenty of space to park the bike.

About 2 weeks ago in weather conditions best described as bucketing rain, myself and another forumite completed a pleasant northside morning ride.
We stopped at a cafe beside Windsor Railway station in a dripping wet condition, sort of like the proverbial drowned rats.
The cafe proprieters immediately went and found us some warm dry towels.
This enabled us to then enjoy some civilized post-ride refreshments.

This service was above and beyond the call of duty and deserves a big credit here.

This place is very bike friendly, do great coffee and breakfasts. Saturday morning can be very busy after about 7.30, but Sundays are a bit more relaxed.

The Fort Specialty Coffee
6 Endeavour Blvd, North Lakes QLD 4509

Cheers

The only bike shop I'd go to for coffee is the new location for Crankstar on Annerly Rd at Wooloongabba. Now we are pretty well served by coffee shops serving good and dross coffee in this postcode. And Crankstar (serving Campos) have nailed it. Great brew.

Otherwise when not in lycra - Desmond & Molly's on Stanley St.
