Replacement Giant carbon forks

Postby SmellyTofu » Tue Mar 19, 2013 4:20 pm

I want to weigh up my options to replacing my carbon forks after a clip stack and an object falling on the forks themselves. I want to know what do people do to replace their Giant forks especially given they use the Overdrive 2 odd-ball size.

Pick any tapered fork and a new tapered headset. The top of the Overdrive 2 headtube apparently has the same internal diameter as a typical tapered headtube. Just a thinner top cup to cope with the fatter 1 1/4" steerer. So bang out the old headset and give it a measure...to be sure. Should be either 41.1 or 43.95 depending on headset type (integrated or integral).

Id run a Giant fork. The geometry and hence handling might be affected. See what your LBS has laying around.
