The Fakenago's are almost always good bikes worthy of a respray. Most I have seen have had forged drop outs with drop out adjuster screws, nice angles and lugs, 27.2 seat posts - almost makes you wonder why they would cheapen them with Colnago decals. Many buyers (myself included) steer clear of them, and I'd say there are bargains to be had if you don't mind an anonymous bike.grantw wrote:It's certainly not the worst frame I've seen, I'm curious to learn what it is.

Always beats me why people take the off line early offers.LG wrote:I have no idea who bought it, and to be honest, have no issue with whoever did. Just disappointment it wasn't me . I know what I offered which was relatively little, and the seller let me know he sold it for less.
Seems to me that there is only downside for the seller, unless you realyl know what you have and what it's worth.
You can always sell it to whoever for their offer price at the end of the auction if you want (despite whatever bull they will probably tell you about needing a bike today or only being in town for 2 days or whatever), but your never know what you could have got.
It probably a karma thing for a tight ar*e seller anyway, tempted into saving a couple of bucks on ebay fees but missing out on much more.
A rare case of seller beware.

Beautiful. I started lusting after a touring bike after seeing a picture of one of these, and now days touring bikes are all I ride. Before that I rode a steel crit racer! *shakes head*. If it were closer, 2CM larger and if I were in the market, I would pay $850 for that, it's no bargain but a fair price for a classic bike in good condition. But perhaps that's just my sentimental attachment talking.familyguy wrote:Nice tourer, priced just a little high IMHO, but not far off.

Yeah, i see his point, there's no real need for all those questions. The title of the add is so descriptive it says it all.ldrcycles wrote:Just copy pasting the questions and answers from the Clamont on the last page for posterity, hilarious.

Hi Basil,
Any chance of the wife and I booking a table for dinner?
Regards
He then pulled the listing.
By the way the first question is the bottom one. Saying, "no idea and no I'm not measuring it sorry", just doesn't cut it. The term d*ckhead suddenly springs to mind.

If the top half of its fork [visible in photo #2] is anything to go by, then it'll be a net liability.metalrideroz wrote:1st photo, Bianchi, or at least the rear half of one.
