Or a not so good home, doesn't matter.
I've got 2 old road bikes that are of no use to me. Not exactly exotica but I'm sure someone can do something with these. They're taking up space in my shed.
Both are a bit rusty.
If you don't want to take them from me for free, I could do with a used set of 27 x 1 1/4, 26x1.9 or 700c road tyres.
Porshe
Roadmaster - Hey, the l/h crank arm still has some protective film on it, chrome is sweet as! That's a plus.

Even rarer than the German sportscar, it's a "Porshe". Gotta be worth somethin, eh?amrjon wrote:A free Porsche! I'm sure someone in Adelaide will be in touch soon.

It's tempting but I wonder what some of you thought? My Miyata is in pretty good nick and I was thinking of ebaying it anyway.

This Vitus is aluminium and probably 80's vintage.

Of course it is! When I wrote carbon I meant alu, honest. Brain fail, apologies.morini wrote:Yes there is, near Warwick. There's a massive set up at the airstrip for gliding and lots of what look like hanger/residential combos.

I tell you what - I wish more bikes had this style Cinelli BB shell with integrated cable guides AND the weight saving/drainage holes. My Ken just has a drilled hole with brazed on underside guides.Lots of steel bikes wrote:Looking to trade this 53cm x 53cm Ken Evans frame for a frame of similar quality in size 60 - 62cm.

Well spotted. Yes, late 80s. TSX Superlite tubing. This was my first build a few years ago and is still my favourite ride.vaeske wrote:wows, that looks like a nice bianchi reparto course there. got lugs so late 80s?

Early Dura-Ace (7200?) non aero brake levers, black hoods in great condition, levers scratched up
Generic Shimano non aero brake levers, plenty of patina, no clamp bands
Generic Shimano single pivot brake caliper set, QR thing, recessed bolt
Dia Compe centrepull brake caliper set with straddle cable
Heaps of other bits of brake calipers that I've attacked for parts
Shimano 6 speed SIS light action group - RD with permanently attaced hanger, FD and downtube shifters
Suntour Vx touring groupset - long cage RD, FD, stem mount power ratchet friction shifters, 27" rear wheel with 5 speed freewheel 14-34?
Shimano 600EX Arabesque RD, missing jockey wheels and back plate
Mavic Module E 700c wheelset on Zeus hubs - front true, rear has a couple of flat spots in the rim, just rideable.
Alesa 700c wheelset on KK hubs, both rims true, but rear wheel has two broken spokes. All spokes probably need replacing
Nisi Corsa Toro front wheel on Maillard f20 hub - straight sided internal walls, but pretty sure its not for tubulars

I've been noticing this thread doesn't get much love lately, and also been seeing quite a few people looking for small bits and pieces to finish off builds. I reckon between everyone on this part of the forum we'd have almost anything anyone is looking for, so was thinking of trying to revive this swap idea a bit.
Feel free to ignore if you think this is a bad idea, but I think it would be good to keep this going more along the lines of a Retro WTB/WTT thread. Rather than us posting lists of dags we have lying around, people could just ask for things they need and update their posts as they tick things off the list.
I think there's a general spirit of helpfulness and paying it forward on this sub-forum that you don't get through some of the more mercenary online sales sites. I've been the recipient of some very generous people on here, and would like to be a part of the cycle going forward (see what I did there? )
Anyway, not sure if it would be best in this thread, or in a new one, or in the new WTB sub-forum. Any thoughts?

I think your idea of making it similar to the WTB or WTT threads is great.

I have a braze on FD-6401, and require a 28.6 clamp version. Any love?

The link should direct to a simple table. Any good?

How about a Google Group or similar where everyone with wares to offer lists bits, say under their BNA user names, in their own document. It's Read-Only to other people, and the owner is responisble for deleting items as obtained or swapped?
Probably other open/free online collaborative tools that might do the job as well.
