Bike Wishlist for $5000
Postby kunalraiker » Mon Mar 18, 2013 10:30 pm
A bike that you might already own or something you are ogling, could be something you are saving for or just something you know through your research.
Does not have to be a $5000 bike, the price tag is up to.
Think along the lines of Lightest Bike, may be the most aero bike.
Could very well be the most comfortable bike or could be an extremely good allrounder, let us know what the reasons are for selecting the bike.
An awesome looking bike could give you the tickle ?
Lets say you pick a $2000.00 as your choice, it should stack up against a $5000 bike, meaning one rider timing an equal if not better lap time on the $2000.00
Performance is definitely a sort of priority, rest is up to you

Giant TCR Advanced SL 0 with Di2 and Zipp 404s
Another TCR with Di2 and Zipps
both of those are XL frames (which I would assume is 58cm?), Giants always offer great value for money, if I only had 5 grand and I was looking to buy a bike it would be either of those two.
Normal price for the TCR Advanced SL 1 is around $5k, and that's a solid bike equipped with Dura Ace, and if I couldn't find a higher spec one on special I would probably get one of these.
Or for something a bit different - Look 675. I'm not really sold on the aesthetics but maybe it looks good in the flesh, would have to see one in person to be sure. I have a 695 and it's a fantastic bike.

I commute on my LOOK when i feel like it. I usually take something more utilitarian though, bit of dirt on the way.
