So doing the 105 kms tomorrow - just saw that the event will be 'opened' by Barry O'Farrell - how fitting, or not.
The 105km has the max allowed 1,000 riders, going to be pretty big. I'll try to report back on the event, different course to last year but hopefully just as much fun.

I didn't ride the event though passed a lot participating in the event, great to see so many cyclists out and there was regular signage, police at certain points, lots of marshalls and some special lanes at major intersections for participants safety.

I couldn't agree more. I did the 105k. Very well organised and much more challenging than I was expecting. Though as we started off I was at the front with another guy who did the 3 peaks in 8 hours. i think I burnt myself out pretty bad keeping up with him for 10km!riles wrote:What a great ride and an extremely well run and planned event! i know the 15 + members of the team i rode with couldnt speak highly enough of the event how well it was run - and even better than last years one! congrats to all involved
the marshalls were great and it was good to see a few pinch points like heading east on Mona Vale Rd at Forrest way, and Nastly Little Hill being given a lane of the road to make things safer. I think there were 1000 in the 105km and 500-odd in the 58k.AUbicycles wrote: I didn't ride the event though passed a lot participating in the event, great to see so many cyclists out and there was regular signage, police at certain points, lots of marshalls and some special lanes at major intersections for participants safety.
I'll definitely be back next year.
I did the loop the lake ride at Lake Macquarie a fortnight ago and the difference in organisation was stark. To be fair, the roads today were much more suited to that volume of traffic, but still, very impressed with todays ride.
Cheers,
Dave

Couldn't agree more with previous posters. The organization was superb. Great route, well planned, and the work of the volunteers, SES and police was fantastic. I'm astonished that they were able to organize so many volunteers to give up their Sunday mornings, but they really made the ride. Definitely coming back next year.

Did the 105 too. Great fun! Although it did test my lungs on the climbs after a few months of lighter training due to injury.
Rockin' some Rule 7 tannage now though!
