Just my humble opinion but Kiwi's migrate to OZ and drive here without sitting an Australian driving test. So whenever our cycling Kiwi's friends goes down it could just as easy be an Australian cyclist.

I'm not really having a crack about it, but it just seems to be outside of the thread's scope. Others may see it differently :)

Personally, I feel that there are enough similarities between the two countries that there is value in highlighting incidents such as fatalities. Many of us cycle there and many kiwis cycle here. The attitudes towards cyclists in NZ appears to be quite different to here, but the modalities of fatalities can still lead to worthy discussion about cycling safety here in Australia, as well as to remind us that any outing on the road - regardless of the vehicle you choose - has inherent risks.

No put them up, but put them in the 2013 thread.

A cyclist has sadly been killed early this morning in Humpty Doo, just out of Darwin.

It looks like an eBike in the pictures. I know a guy out there who rides one regularly, but the person killed is a female. Very sad.
