Couple of months time and you'll be riding while a lot of us here in Australia will be looking out at wet skies!toolonglegs wrote:Nice on Perry .

I am going to try and soldier on through winter - while I've commuted in many a winter, never 'trained' through. I don't like that word, training. Whats a word that describes enjoyment, quiet time and suffering simultaneously? Either way I think I should be able to do it, I've had a few wet days recently and quite enjoy being out in the elements. Something different.

I haven't really been able to do any climbing for the last 2 months after I snapped my new frame.
The loaner I had was too small and I hit Mt Gravatt one day 13 times, and tweaked my knee again.
The new bike felt good up O'Reilly's so hopefully I can build back up again.

Then.
Wasn't going to beat the potatoes out of myself, just going for a spin, I said.
Then.
Smashed some pedals.
Can't help myself haha. Well at least I've got my 250km for the week done.

Try the 5 peaks on the Sunny Coast (I havn't, only heard they are a grind in one day)ldrcycles wrote:Mt Wellington last week, 20k for 1,189m climbing . The 'mountains' on the Sunshine Coast look pathetic now . But I guess if I loop enough of them together it could work out alright.

pass but will pass it on to a workmateLukeyboy wrote:Mt Coo-tha, Mt Nebo, Mt Glorious, Clear Mountain, Mount Mee, Mount Mellum, Bald Knob and out towards Maleny. That'll put your legs to the test. That's easily in the 3000-400m mark depending on your route like going down the Goat Track from Mt Nebo and then climbing Mt Glorious etc.
I'd happily do coot-tha, nebo glorious
my mate reckons the hardest ride he's EVER done is the climb to glorious from wivenhoe. this segment:
