No bids, or pulled early? Sellers name rings a bell, I think its a bit of a habit.LG wrote:For a taller fella in Sydney, this looks like the real deal http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380608575128 ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Obviously had a hard life though.

Up to three times longer lasting than other crappy 10 speeds

Nice paint!
On another note, I just picked up an early 90s Mongoose, Tange steel with full Deore DX in great condition for $45 - proving that there are still bargains to be had on eBay. I didn't share it on here of course...

The 'lefty' concept didn't quite work as well for chainstays as well as it did for the fork.rollin wrote:Wouldn't be a dale if it wasn't broke...QuangVuong wrote:Wow, did this bike get set on fire or seomthing?

Yeah.. but sheesh, Sora brakes? The sum of the parts still aint worth $50 opening bid.Dumb Seller wrote:These parts are need to be worth something alone.
It's barely worth the outside risk you'll skin your knuckles removing the few remaining useful bits off of that cancerous piece of munted aluminium. You'd get more grinding the frame into shavings, dissolving them in cat's pi55 and selling it as Emu Export (Apologies to the budget minded WA hipsters reading this... HLC if you're reading )

Plus the front fork looks kinda strange. It might just be the angle of the picture but it looks bent.

I think it's just a daggy, cheap old road bike with a big fork offset. Hardly a serious race machine in its day.Hamster wrote:Plus the front fork looks kinda strange. It might just be the angle of the picture but it looks bent.im_no_pro wrote:80% off rare top brand peugeout

That said, I'd be on that bike like a meat-seaking pirahanna for the components if the price & locale was right

Top of the line Raleigh USA Touring bike for 1983, in a 63CM seatpost in NSW. High price but not outrageous, I'd make him an offer if it were down south. Here it the original catalogue

Looks to be complete, including racks, and I can make out the coloured bits on the Deore gen. 1 deraileurs. Here are specs

Pretty close to top dollar, but it looks in very nice condition.

That Alan/Vitus looks odd. No rear brakes? Levers look like cheapos although it could just be the lack of hoods. What's going on with the seat stay angle? and the rear mech I can't identify.sunho wrote:never expected to this something like this on treebay.... not for that price... someone in QLD

it's an alan. it's pretty tired from the pics i saw when i emailed the seller. victory fd, crankset. weinmann delta front caliper. no rear caliper. weinmann levers. altus rear derailleur, which usually belongs on a mtb/hybrid/bso. seller should spend $200 and sell for $400, or get real imho.Dezza wrote:That Alan/Vitus looks odd.
