Now what's this all about? He's had these ads on ebay for months now but doesn't provide any info. Is this how you launder money? Got me buggered.

This Miyata's on f/bay at Gosford. Idly eyeing it off. What do people make of that rust situation. Looks like it may be a bit more than superficial. Pig in a poke I guess. Gosford's a maritime environment.
Am guessing they paid a pretty penny at Wooley's Wheels in the day.

You call that rust? I would say that's barely anything. From that pic, it doesn't look like it has any rust underneath the paint. The Peugeot That I rode on the retro ride was far worse than this(most of the underside of the top tube + small patches around) and it's still safe enough to ride. From Northern Beaches area, so quite a salty area as well.

Not my pic, but from the seller.

The rust on the screws of the RX100 groupset is normal. Ive got as much on mine.

Its a very clean bike to me! Grab it!

Just looked at it on ebay. No corrosion on the alloy parts. I say it'd be a nice pickup, providing it doesnt go too high from that start price. If it was taller, you'd be competing with me for it.

Yeah my sentiments exactly. No clue about the frame, but the only parts that attract me are the bars, stem and wheels.

Thanks for confirming my doubt :D

Yes, but even the Italians finally worked out that the Japanese stuff worked better than Campagnolo, :P

Perhaps I am showing my ocd tendencies, but I would be more concerned about the strange mix of components - the front brake and crank appear to be 600 Arabesque which would date it as late 70s early 80s while the shifters and rear derailleur appear to be 105 SC from the late 80s early 90s

Yeah, certainly an interesting mix of components. Not worth $500.

I've abandoned this idea as going to Japan in 5 weeks and *might* be lucky enough to find some goodies to post home.

That's called an 'Upgrade' Often happens if you keep a bike for a few years.

A possible later update to indexed shifting? Who knows.

It does have Arabesque cranks - the sexiest cranks ever made, IMNSHO.

Fair call I think. Most of mine are upgraded well beyond spec.

Just won a "Peugot" mixte for $91 on a whim. Hopefully it turns out as clean as it looks in the pictures, I've been after one for ages.

How many Peugeots do you have?

Ummm, two UO8's (one frame, one bike), Trail mtb frame, Hurricane mtb frame, 525 comp bike, Abuisque bike, and I've had three others go through my hands. So probably not too many. Always room for the n+1 theory.

I also have two Citroen BX's if they count as Peugeots.
