"I have maintained it very well", you know except for the rusty spokes and chain, and the tyre sidewalls that look like shredded ancient Egyptian scrolls.

I ride like a ninja and sneak up on people :D - I'll try a different tactic and see what happens!

Thanks again for the bike - really happy I picked it up!

Listing pulled but the "You may also be interested in..." showed up a red/yellow Victory Tri-A in QLD that may be of interest to some, can't tell what state it's in from the horrible photo.

i remember going to james clappertons farm in primary school and riding his sisters dragster to the creek ("watch out for stubby fish" his dad used to say).
3 speed on the top bar was pretty rad. so fast down the hills!

With our fathers doing all the hard work, we were designing and riding our own bikes

mower engine with a wheelbarrow back wheel belt driven, no brakes. Somehow we survived.
Standing next to me was my good mate, later 3 times Mr Motorcross, Anthony Gunter.

Because they don't ride bikes?

Love seeing another Victory Tri - A in good condition.

I also have one, albeit completely stock.

very nicely. You started it by running with it, then leaping on the seat with the throttle open.
We had the steps all sorted. But my older sister wanted a go.
yep, didn't get it quite right; full throttle across the park, over the gutter, across the road, up the driveway of the neighbours, into their fence.
She was banned 8)
Cathy never did get her car licence.
It was almost like a speedway bike when the grass was wet.
Other 'weapons' of the time were old motorbikes bought for $20 each; Ariels, BSAs and Triumphs, no helmets bashing through the scrub near our primary school.

I picked up my very first 'Repco' yesterday at a Swapmeet in Melbourne - at least I was told it was a Repco. All stickers have been removed. Since buying it it has grown on me steadily, it is a mid to late 80s mid level quality frame - Forged dropouts without adjuster screws, nice seat stays, fairly nice finish and a great colour :D My plan is to fit my Nitto Albatross bars, some nice 7 or 8 speed wheels, lose that 52 ring - I don't use them - and leave it as is as a 1x8 work horse.

Here are the pics, and from what I can discern:
105 DT shifters, derailleurs, Sugino VP cranks are original.
Kalloy stem and ssssuuupper long 26.6 seatpost are probably not - The gap in the seat tube appears to narrow towards the top, so 26.6 may not be the original size.
I put the wheels on to keep it off the ground, not original.

Can anyone take a guess at what it is? :)

Geo, lugs and fillets look superliteish to me. I'll put a fiver on repco. 26.6 would support that, too.

Scanned back through the thread until I found another Superlite, and I think you might be right! 5 internet dollars to you.
Yes the geometry is pretty relaxed, I kinda like it. I will build some Deore LX 7 speed hubs onto used Mavic MA2s for it on saturday, pop a black stem and seatpost on, wrap the Albatross bars with that second hand brooks tape I have somewhere, and see how it goes.
I think I can then claim the blingiest Superlite in the Repco Appreciation Society? :)
