Two ambulances & police in attendance just near the corner of Fitzgerald & James st around 8am this morning.
Looks like he had been knocked off by a car coming out of a driveway but difficult to be sure.
Hope the injuries were not too serious.
Anyone else know any more details?

Update.
Judging by the white marks on the road left by police it seems the cyclist was riding south down the footpath & was hit by a car exiting the driveway from Faranosi's Hardware.
He was in lycra on a road bike & the traffic around there does not travel that quickly during peak hour - which makes you wonder.
Could be an interesting case from a liability/insurance perspective as he was obviously breaking the law being on the footpath.

When I looked into it a couple years ago, WA 3rd party person from vehicle registration does not cover victims breaking the law. I don't know if that means criminal acts or road traffic or whether relevance and discretion come in with legal representation, but I gather easier to avoid incident and in case of one be sure to be doing the right thing by the law.
