Vintage Melvern Star date?

Postby Pushie Pirate » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:44 pm

Have quite a collection of pushies mainly customs and a couple of oldies, this gem is one of my all time favorite bikes,
love the BSA sprocket and the faded paints patina. Does not have original rims sadly. Would be most grateful if some
one could kindly date this little beauties owner a rough date, thank you, PP.

Love the recessed stars and the niffty little reflector but can't understand where it is mounted, from behind it is lower
than the high point of the the rear guard and therefore can't be seen or reflect rearwards?

Here is, I guess, the serial number 6 711.

Cut it up and turn it into something else!

The frame number doesnt fit the normal pattern, but the 6 probably means 1946.
The black painted 'joggled' BSA cranks, and the early model 'continental' headfittings, were both used during the war by Malvern Star, and for a short time afterwards.
