Anyone tried them? How do they compare to the OCRs?
Yeah I'm thinking about it.
I'm thinking about spending somewhere between $1,000 and $2,000, the less the better, looking for something a bit comfortable and a bit fast. ATM planning on keeping the S500 as a utility bike and not fitting a rack to the new one.

Hubby considered one of these, but heard from our LBS who specialise in Treks that they are quite difficult to come by. I don't know whether they are just not imported into Aus in numbers.
You may not be able to find one to test ride - we couldn't.

Trek annoys me intensely. The Aussie distributor is only interested in racing bikes and cooking version commuters. Anything else is too hard, but if you nag enough and have a good shop on your side, you can get anything. Sadly, too many bike shops share the delusion that if it's not a racing bike, it's not an option (read back to my story about buying the Black Beast ... and I had a very good dealer on my side).moosterbounce wrote:but heard from our LBS who specialise in Treks that they are quite difficult to come by.

I'm going have a look around generally too, I've got to save a bit more until I have more money than sense - which is harder than it used to be cause I'm growing a little bit more sense these days.
I remember having $1000 in the bank meaning you'd go and spend $1000 that weekend...
