If you're on the roads in Gippsland and the Mornington Peninsula this week, keep a look out for the Bayer Lions District 201V3 Ride for Sight.
More than 50 riders will be leaving from Orbost on Wednesday morning and finishing up at the Cerberus Naval Base at Hastings on Sunday lunch time. This is a charity ride to raise funds for eye health research projects and has been run by the Lions Clubs of the District for 20 years.
Please give us a friendly wave and shout of encouragement!

Well the ride is over and we had a great time.
In four and a half days I cycled 478 kilometres burning 17,742 calories and exercising for a total of 28.25 hours. But I'm not game to try and work out how many calories I consumed thanks to the 20 Lions Clubs that hosted us along the way!
The camaraderie and cycling were great and it looks as though we raised more than $50,000 for charity (still waiting on the final tally to come through) so all in all, a very successful and enjoyable ride event.

I had a chat with a few of the guys at the Metung meal break last week. I just happened to be riding past at the time.
Sounded as though they were having a lot of fun.
I'm very interested in taking part next year. Do you know were I can find details when the time comes?

I am currently on the organising committee so if you PM me your email address and contact details, I will pass them onto the secretary so that you can be included in the information mail outs when the time comes.
Cheers
Tracey
PS We were having LOTS of fun!

Saw some signs about the Morno Peninsular. Got home and tried to use my google fooand see what you guys were doing. Didn't work!
Well done though. Glad you had fun. That's quite a feat over 4 days.
Respect,
Cam
