Hooray - Got my sig line working again and I have managed to get myself back in front of target. :D

And the spreadsheet says I will be a little short of last year. No significant injury or aches issues and I usually crank it up for the November ride-to-work spring challenge thingy. So a good chance that I can match last years. Whatever I manage I will be pleased with it.

You are amazing Colin. Fancy an old bloke like you getting the hang of the signature bar. Oh, and your riding is pretty good too. :P

I dunno Dave, I reckon I could last just under 2 minutes on a trainer before going spare :D

Still trailing the target but the early Jan rides haven't loaded so I'm actually on 1885 km's ridden for the year :)

Finally...Back in the GREEN!!! (by 6km :)).

Lost a few weeks off the bike in Feb (mechanical) and it has taken this long to make up for those missing km's. At the time, Mrs C+W had offered a loan of her heavy, steel, flat barred hybrid with basket commuter - but I DO have standards (OK, they're pretty low :)).

Anyway, still behind on my climbing target but pleased to be back on target for distance coming into the weekend.

I've noticed the change in temperature this last week and had to pull out the long pants and thermal base layers (predicted 3°C overnight).

Happy riding...

I felt the cold this morning, even with toe warmers and long sleeves. Luckily new thermals knicks and a beanie arrived in the mail today to boost the winter clothing wardrobe.

Broken spoke means that I only rode 12KMs for the last 2 days. Leaves me still a fair way behind being in green.

Meanwhile that Celesteboy seems to have scooted off in front of me. Hopefully I can reliably reel him in over time.

Welcome Remnant, new to cycling as well or just the 6K club?
Been back on the bike for about the last 6 years, missed it greatly. My boy (10) is also getting right into it so good to share the journeys although he is becoming difficult to catch. Wait till he gets a Cervelo...;)

Lovely day for a ride down here! After the torrential rain and strong winds yesterday, today was clear and still and perfect :)

Managed 121 km this morning. First ride in 10 days and my first 100 clicker in quite awhile. Was suffering some serious cramping over the top of Mt. Mee on my way home.

Perfect weather too. A classic SEQ autumn day. Cool morning, first wear of the arm warmers for the year, and a warm day. You couldn't want for more.

Finished my charity ride on saturday, total was 230kms over 3 days. Armidale to South West Rocks on mostly gravel back roads on mountain bikes. Good fun, camping out in the bush with 400 people. My red arrow is getting a bit worried now, plan is to catch him within 2 weeks.

In an effort to make up some ground, I had to drop out of my bunch ride today, the legs would not turn as they should. I guess the warning is you must recover before extra effort. (As the Dr says "considering your age")

Hahaha, yeah I was pretty stoked with my 80km loop on Sunday, but it pales in comparison to what others are doing. I need to pull my finger out and make sure I get at least 3 river loops in a week to stay ahead of the line. My commuting is bugger all and I struggle to get a morning on the weekends to go for a long ride, given all the kids' commitments these days. I jsut have to HTFU and ride through winter. :)

In the end it maters little.

I now have picked up a bug. I'm to wrecked to even ride home from work this evening. Got to get a lift from a mate. I've been told by my work mates not to come in tomorrow. :o

With the way I'm feeling I don't think I'll be riding for the rest of the week. Was planning to clock up 280km. Oh well.

They're running a KOM/QOM on the Cootharaba Rd climb this year. They have a couple of grades, open and 40+. No chance for me.

Time for a bit of an update from me. Been away on a family holiday in Coffs Harbour last week. Only a couple of short rides while I was up there, one with the family and one solo, but plenty of other activities keeping us busy like taking my 5 year old for his first round (9 hole course) of golf, tennis, bush walking, canoeing, swimming, tobogganing and general site seeing and walking around. Needed all the activity to make up for the numerous banana splits, fritters, cakes, ice creams etc. Was a great week.

Back home and to work this week although had an RDO today and took my son down to the BMX track where we ran into some of his friends and they had a great time racing around in between watching a state level rider having some fun.

Got a bit of work ahead of me to get the climbing target done this month but a public holiday and weekend left should give me enough time to get it sorted as well as keep the triangle at bay on the distance front as it got within a few days of catching me.

Trying to catch up on the thread properly too. Glad to hear your replacement bike is in your possession and being ridden Graham. Well done on the charity ride Andywho and best of luck to duds2u and Mustang for the Noosa 160.
