thecaptn and I finished our tour of the northwestern part of Tasmania last week. I've written it up on CGOAB at http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/12251" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This was our longest tour so far and took us through Devonport, Hellyer Gorge, Waratah, Corinna, Zeehan, Strahan, Queesntown, Lake St Clair, Bronte Park, Great Lake and Deloraine.

Great read Ken - I heard many echoes of my own Tassie tour of a few years ago. I have a plan to return and do almost exactly your tour, but I want to go via Arthur River and approach Corinna via the Western Explorer. I've already visited Corinna twice, but stayed in the cabins both times so all smiles from the management.
I took a trout rod to EnZed last year, but had even less luck than you, and eventually lost my rod on the penultimate day on the road. But I'm going to try again next tour.
Deloraine is also one of my favourite places, the deli is rather special too. And the pub at Mole Creek provided very comfortable accommodation and good food when I toured through there. The crossing of the Gog Range was not particularly difficult - steep but quite short. Cethana Gorge on the Forth River though was a bit more difficult.
You story has got my feet itchy now.

Me too. Tassy is the next big tour on my list.RonK wrote:Your story has got my feet itchy now.
Thanks for the excellent tour write-up Ken. A great reference source for planning my trip when the time comes. Some good ideas on where to go and where to avoid, thanks.

Thank you too Ron.
I'd made a mental note to read your journal some time ago.
No excuses not doing so now.

I'm also pretty keen to get back there and check out the north east.
