Annual Cycling Goal/Journal

Postby VeloGiro » Mon Apr 22, 2013 7:27 am

Hi folks - I have noticed that a number of you are 'posting' your cycling goal and progress against it in a sideways bar graph that updates when you post -

I am keen to do this but cant seem to find out how - Any advise appreciated! Oh I don't have a strada cycle computer...

Cheers

I use bikejournal.com. Use the search function and hopefully you can figure out how to set it up.

Well done VeloGiro, you certainly worked it out much faster than me. It took me a few attempts to get it up and running.

Pop in and introduce yourself in the 10k club thread...it's a bit quite in there, it appears that everyone is too busy riding to chat on forums

Hi again folks - revisiting this one as stat monkey which provided the graphic etc seems to have not been active for some time now...

I am keen to track/graph my annual goal again - and once again i dont have a strava or GPS setup - still using the old school cyclocomputer...any suggestions?

Cheers

Hi VeloGiro,
I've been generating the images (mostly for myself :-) ) that look like this
Image
since statmonkey's page stopped working for Strava. I need to pull the data from somewhere though. If you set up a bikejournal account and make the profile public, I can sort you out.

Hmm... I signed up to bikejournal.com expecting some sort of interface to Strava etc but from what I can deduce it's all manual entry... disappointing. :(

And at the other end of the spectrum, AFAIK, Strava is all un-manual. Forget to turn on your GPS until a few km into your ride, or find the battery is flat etc.,., and you can't log it in Strava.

Would love to have something that could upload GPS data and allowed manual entry, and as a bonus, could be supported by Karl's graphic. Anyone know of something ?

KB I'd love the banner too please. Boognoss in Bike Journal too. Does your script pull the goal distance or do we need to tell you?

Hi Boognoss,

You'll have to tell me the goal distance. I set you up for 7000km as this currently gets you 7km ahead :-)

Thanks very much Karl. I like the way you think but I had a slow start to the year and if I have a 7000km goal it'll make me too lazy. Please set my distance to 12000km and I'll see if I get there :).
