Not on the FSC-38 in the photo, it is my hill climbing 11-26, the 11-23 is on the FSL50-CM/G3 combo right nowpawnii wrote:i assume you're running 11/23 Nick?

Sram Red derailleurs and cassette are ridiculously light. I might have to get a Sram cassette when my ultegra one wears out. Mine has done about 3000km and still seems in good condition. Hw long do you think it will last?nickobec wrote:Between mine and yours, the groupset, handlebars, wheels, tyres and skewers are all lighter on my mine. My frame & stem are slightly heavier but not enough to counteract 250g for the wheels, 250g for the groupset, 70gm for skewers, 60g tyres, 60g barsadamr wrote:So, what is the secret to your light weight? Mine is about 7.17kg including Garmin 500, K-edge mount and GS-10 sensor. Where are the big weight differrences? What are your wheels?
most of the build list
Brakes Ciamillo, Zero Gravity Ti 219
Cables/Housing Flying Snake 250
Cassette SRAM, OG-1090 (Red) 153
Chain KMC, X10SL 229
Handlebar Easton , EC90 SLX3 200
Bar Tape Selle Italia 35
Cranks SRAM Red 170mm GXP 630
Bottom Bracket GXP SRAM ceramic 110
RD Sram, Red, 2009 149
FD SRAM, Red, 2008, Braze On 58
Pedals LOOK, KéO Carbon CrMo 231
Saddle Selle Italia, SLR 147
Seat Post FM066SL 195
Shifters SRAM, Red 302
Tire Front Continental, GP Attack 180
Tire Rear Continental, GP Force 200
Tubes Supersonic x 2 104
Rim Strips Ritchey x 2 17
Wheels Farsports FSC-38mm 1240
Skewers planet X 44
Bottle cage x2 Ebay 34
BTW my FM066SL is the BB30 model so with that build kit, and a lighter stem it was in the 6.40kg range. It will be back on the road soon, as a budget build using a microshift group set and sharing the Farsports FSC-38mm wheelset, should be a sub $2.5k 6.50kg bike
Now I am tempted to get the far sports wheels as the would get me to 6.8 in one step, and much lower if I got new types and cassette too. How do you find the Planet X skewers?

I was looking at the Arx and Ergonova Team (red or black stripe, not sure). LTD is a bit spendy. wiggle is selling the white Olympic edition ones cheap, but I think they are ugly!pawnii wrote:I hear what you're saying about not sacrificing ride when it comes to cutting weight.Stem is next on my list, as I think I could do with a slightly shorter one anyway. Ian trying to work out if an ergonova bar would be good, or if I should stick with an FSA carbon compact.
I have ergonova ltd handlebars on an ARX LTD stem. Love them and highly recommend them if you're willing to spend lots of $$$.
I can't decide if I should shorten my stem 10mm. The reach on the fm066 is about 15mm more than my other bike, and I am not sure if I am too stretched out. If it was closer, I might be able to go lower with the bars.
I looked at an ergonova alloy bar and the reach and drop seemed much greater than my FSA Wing Pro Compact, when they are supposed to be less. I don't suppose you have compared the two?

Sorry i've never compared the FSA Wing Pro Compact against the Ergonova team. But be mindfull that the Ergonova drops are wider at the tip then at the hoods as they splay out 10mm as they drop. My 42cm bars are actually 40cm at the hoods.adamr wrote:I was looking at the Arx and Ergonova Team (red or black stripe, not sure). Would be good if you could borrow a stem that's 10-15mm shorter to try out before committing....but if you think you're too stretched out then you probably are.
Stem length, angle and height are such a personal thing, imo you have to try different combos to find out what works best.

That is a lot of carbon. Is that carbon fibre grass the bike is on?Arlberg wrote:Storck Fascenerio 0.6, 6.36kg, not bad for a bike with Di2.

Yeah, the FSAs are similar in this regard, but the hook bend is different.pawnii wrote:Sorry i've never compared the FSA Wing Pro Compact against the Ergonova team. I am still not sure. When I lean forward properly and rotate my hips, the hoods feel fine. Form check in the windows I pass looks OK. In that position, my front hub is just visible in front of the handlebars. My problem is that my legs and arms are a bit short relative to my torso. I am not sure where I could borrow a 90mm stem from, but I could always buy a 90mm Deda zero1 because they are cheap, or look out for a cheap 90mm stem on eBay.Would be good if you could borrow a stem that's 10-15mm shorter to try out before committing....but if you think you're too stretched out then you probably are.

I personally find it hard to gauge what works for me on short rides. I try to do at least a couple of 4 hour rides on the flat and a few in the mountains before reconsidering any changes.
You could of course get a professional to fit you for a price if you're that bothered.
Buying a cheap 90mm stem is a good idea.
Shame I don't have one to lend u

The Deda stem is only 25 bucks online and I should be able to flip it for that on eBay when I am done.pawnii wrote:don't worry to much about how you look as that's not the best gauge in regards to the right fit IMO.

A true weenie's in the house.
I had 39/53 Clavicula's but they were nothing but trouble. Couldn't stop them squeeking and they were always loose regardless how tight I preloaded them.
Serves me right for buying used ones.
I'm in the market for a compact clavicula M3 set ATM.
I also have a Recon/KMC setup but don't use it anymore.
Looks like your next upgrade might be brake calliper?
I just pulled the trigger on some Ciamillio Gravitas.

I'm building a Cipollini RB1000 at the moment, it should come in around 5.8kg.
