Don't bother with the foot pump, I bought one last year, couldn't get above about 80 psi, and it broke apart while I was using it. Metal bracket sheared off, I'm still finding pieces of it around my garage.

Bike lights sold out VERY quickly at my local!
The backpack with the metal ribbing in the back can be modified, I removed the ribbing in front of the manager after purchasing it and he looked like he shat a housebrick! Didn't realise it could be modified like that...

Bought a gel seat cover but doesn't cover a standard Fuji Nevada seat, so pretty useless.

Someone tried telling me to go and get some lights for $20 each at GoldCross. I told him 'I'm a chinese importation specialist, I just don't want to wait two weeks but I guess I'll have to'.

Not really worth it in my opinion but it'll get me out of a hole.

I have the Aldi panniers and rack -$49 which i adapted for the 29er. Good for me but hasn't been tested in a downpour.
I also have the el cheapo toolkit. Loaned it to a friend who changed his pedals. Doesn't everyone know the left pedal has an opposite thread? This guy bent steel! The pedal spanner is twisted like Superman's demo at the start of the TV shows.

I've had mixed results with Aldi bike gear

*zip up short sleeve shirt and it's good. Use it all the time
*tool kit - I ended up bending a couple of the tools. The cassette removing tool (bar with a chain) bent and pin fell out of the chain. But several of the other tools were very handy, it gave me a good idea about what tools I need (I've never really repaired bikes beyond the basics). I'm just going to replace the tools that aren't much good with better quality items.
*$7 bike computer (bought it for the g/f). Worked for about 30 seconds and that was it. Wouldn't pickup the sensor
*cycling socks (whatever that means), but they were cheap and good!

Picked up one of those saddles they had last week. Turns out its a Sell Royal saddle, which is made in Italy. Not bad for a $15 saddle.

Also grabbed the $10 wireless comp, but its range is far too short. Wouldve like to have the sensor on the chainstay(other side), rather than on the forks.

How much were those tool kits Aldi had?

Take it back and get another one, their return policy is very good!

I'd probably spend $7 in petrol driving there lol ;)
I don't usually shop at ALDI, so it would be a special trip. If it cost more $20 I'd probably consider taking it back, but for $7 I'm not that worried

Problem with returning Aldi stuff they usually don't have a replacement in stock as it was only on special for that week and I think they must send unsold stock back to the warehouse (not always though, sometimes they just sell it off cheap) but you can get a refund.

My Aldi usually keeps unsold stock in the store room. The wired computers they had last week are still on the shelves. Soon, Id reckon theyll go on special and move to the glass cabinets at the front of the store.

I used the bearing puller today for the first time. Worked like a charm.
Also used the chain breaker. Excellent.
All on 80's type bike.

A guy at work got one last year. It's not a terrible piece of crap (as far as folders go) and quite rideable if set up right. I'm almost tempted to get one...

Wonder if the Gumtree seller can play around with the pic and wording and sell it for, say, $500?

i bought a pair of aldi/crane shy pants once and they didn't last one trip and ripped straight down the mid centre seam right underneath. i took them back to the shop and the guy gave me grief - did i climb through a fence with them on? were they the right size? what did i do with them etc and i showed him the receipt from about 1 day before hand and the fact that it was torn right along the seam and he finally gave me my $$$ back.

i also bought a crane black vest and the zip busted fairly quickly. i just bought a new $5 zip, spent hours unpicking and put a new one in. Now it works right.

2/2 is enough to put me off. i'd rather buy name brands now.

I feel a little bit ripped off now. I bought the same variant of the toolkit from Roswheel for $45 or so only about half a year ago.

I'll prob pick up one of those short sleeve jerseys, and a pair of arm warmer.

+1 for the shirts. I've had a long sleeve top from Aldi for 3 years, so I'll look for short sleeved ones.

Watch out for Camels in Aldi. This one looks unimpressed by the specials:
