The backpack with the metal ribbing in the back can be modified, I removed the ribbing in front of the manager after purchasing it and he looked like he shat a housebrick! Didn't realise it could be modified like that...
Bought a gel seat cover but doesn't cover a standard Fuji Nevada seat, so pretty useless.
Someone tried telling me to go and get some lights for $20 each at GoldCross. I told him 'I'm a chinese importation specialist, I just don't want to wait two weeks but I guess I'll have to'.
Not really worth it in my opinion but it'll get me out of a hole.

I also have the el cheapo toolkit. Loaned it to a friend who changed his pedals. Doesn't everyone know the left pedal has an opposite thread? This guy bent steel! The pedal spanner is twisted like Superman's demo at the start of the TV shows.

*zip up short sleeve shirt and it's good. Use it all the time
*tool kit - I ended up bending a couple of the tools. The cassette removing tool (bar with a chain) bent and pin fell out of the chain. But several of the other tools were very handy, it gave me a good idea about what tools I need (I've never really repaired bikes beyond the basics). I'm just going to replace the tools that aren't much good with better quality items.
*$7 bike computer (bought it for the g/f). Worked for about 30 seconds and that was it. Wouldn't pickup the sensor
*cycling socks (whatever that means), but they were cheap and good!

Also grabbed the $10 wireless comp, but its range is far too short. Wouldve like to have the sensor on the chainstay(other side), rather than on the forks.
How much were those tool kits Aldi had?

I'd probably spend $7 in petrol driving there lolfoo on patrol wrote:

I don't usually shop at ALDI, so it would be a special trip. If it cost more $20 I'd probably consider taking it back, but for $7 I'm not that worried

i also bought a crane black vest and the zip busted fairly quickly. i just bought a new $5 zip, spent hours unpicking and put a new one in. Now it works right.
2/2 is enough to put me off. i'd rather buy name brands now.

+1 for the shirts. I've had a long sleeve top from Aldi for 3 years, so I'll look for short sleeved ones.foo on patrol wrote:I've had the short sleeved shirts for nearly 4yrs and they are quite good. Might have a look at that tool kit though.

Watch out for Camels in Aldi. This one looks unimpressed by the specials:
