hey i'm new to brissy and their isn't much info on the MTB scene here, i ride downhill and i want to know is it worth getting a DH bike here. I don't have a car so i'll be lookin to join a club or meet a few like minded mates.
the other thing is if their isn't much DH here is gettin an XC a safe bet?.... i prefer goin downhill not up, so i would really appreciate some info on the DH if any

I used to work in Brisbane city with a guy who was heavily into DH, so there is some sort of scene in SE Qld... can't help you much more than that, but thought you might appreciate a bit of positive info until someone with more specific knowedge can chime in.
