I'm looking for a 12v air compressor that is genuinely capable of up to 120psi for the presta valve tubes
I've got a supercheap compressor at the moment, that is supposed to handle 140psi, but in reality noses over at 80psi max
any suggestions ?

A decent floor pump is faster, better and more reliable. I'm confused why you would need a 12V compressor.

best of luck with that, even the big ARB ones would have trouble getting to that preasure.
I have 2 good 12V compressors one mounted in the car and one portable, and a 240v compressor but I use a $60 floor pump to do the bikes tyres, as it is quicker, easier, higher preasure and a whole lot quieter.

They aren't designed to achieve that kind of pressure. Get a floor pump or a proper tank compressor which CAN handle it.

Have you had a look at one of these?
$70 plus the battery and charger, not sure what the all up price would end up being.

I have one of these:
http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online ... pid=129247
It will pump a bicycle tyre up to 120psi with no trouble at all.
However, it is easier and more convenient to use a floor pump.

Echoing the sentiments above: Lezyne Steel Floor Drive. $50 delivered to your door from this link is broken.
That is all.

15 dollar Fluid floor pump does it too, but it sucks bad. I can't bring myself to spend more money. LOL
