ID this frame pls

Came across this frame with Colnago Columbus decals.....

i've identified it as a red bicycle frame with colnago decals.
maybe you can post some pics of the lugs, the dropouts, the bottom bracket.
post some specs such as JIS or ISO headtube, eng or ita bb, dropout details, rear spacing, seatpost diameter, frame weight..
right now its a red bike, not a colnago, with colnago stickers.

ask to have this thread moved over to the retro board and see how you go.

What munga said, I know very little about Colnagos but even to me that is obviously not a colnago.

Thanks for your responses, unfortunately, I do not understand any of the technical stuff Munga said. I am a complete novice who just came across some old bike frames including this one and an old Healing.

fork crown, headset (levin? 105?), brake bridge, rear dropouts, should give a good indication. i've got no idea. doesn't look like a repco. maybe a ricardo? maybe a shogun? did selectra's have dropout screws? seatstay caps look like superlite's but thats about it. bb cable routing looks brazed on.

i'll leave this for someone with more experience.

That was my first thought too.

healey, i'd suggest looking under the BB (the bottom of the frame where the crank axle is) for a serial number, that MAY help. Also have a close look at the rear dropouts (where the rear wheel axle is inserted) for a name stamped on the outer face.

If you have a set of verniers, measure the inside diameter of the tube the seatpost goes in, as a general rule, better quality bikes will be a larger diameter (as traditionally the outside diameter was the same, so if the inside diameter was larger, it was due to thinner walls, indicating higher quality tubing).

I would expect the front dropouts will have Tange stamped on them, the forks look identical to the ones on my Mercier, they were everywhere in the 80s.

Even with the above information, you may only be able to narrow it down to 3 or 4 possibilities, in which case I say pick the one you like the sound of best and go with that .

I cant find any marking at all. Anyway, Im not very interested in this bike so I think I will sell this one on ebay in the near future as I want to focus on my lovely old Healing bike.
