1985 Shimano 600

Postby Kermit TF » Sun May 19, 2013 9:21 pm

Fellas, Im pulling my hair out trying to find a 600 derailleur like this one...its the one that was made just after the arabesque but before tri-colour...if anyone has one to part with let me know. (I thought it better I post this up here rather than the main section)
I swear , there must be millions of arabesque items in Aust, but buggered If I can find one of these..

There's a few subtle variations around on the RD-620x I think the basic, original 6200 was non-indexed - then later with x=1+ etc SIS (indexing) came into it. I might be wrong, but I think they owe a lot more to the hand-me-down tech of the Dura-Ace 7400 series.

I kinda like the 6200 over the tricolor 6400. More understanded, with a better aging finish :)

FD-6207. Yep, keep looking - I had three at one stage. Here's one for ±$30 delivered.

Dan's right... Arabesque started 6200. The sub-series you're talking about (and I meant) is 6207 & 6208.

velobase can be your friend :)

Im just waiting on Mr Munga to email me a pic of his one. Its to go on my apollo V, which has a NOS tri colour at the moment, just doesnt look right. The one in the pic is exactly what came on the ol girl...mid 1985.

yeah mate, i got your pm tonight. i'll get some pics off to you later in the week. suffice to say, mines a good deal tidier than the itchy and scratchy show above. ditto with the calipers. i kept them, thinking i might build a group, but i dunno if that's ever gunna happen..

I sold one a few months ago on the bay and got $12 for it, should have timed it better.
