+ bonus seconds leave him 1:26 behind.Fresh wrote:Evans now 1:10 ish down on Nibali
Only the last 2 km broadcast but it looked like a tough day in the saddle.
I can't see how Cadel can make up the time, Nibali is just looking good

Cadel is bettervat pacing self in efforts like the TT but Niballi is a strong climber.Fresh wrote:The removal of today's stage climb will make it even harder for Cadel. He is basically going to have to smash everyone in the ITT, but as it is a climb I cant see it happening.
I would like to think that he could getvthe time back but it's not likely

i believe nibali is clean. he has been outspoken about doping in the past, saying he would be a 'worm' to betray the trust of his parents, who supported him in developing his career. that's more convincing that 'i've never tested positive'.biker jk wrote:Nibali is performing like a Ferrari.

Maybe he is ?? They seem pretty compelling words but then so were these....jules21 wrote: i believe nibali is clean. he has been outspoken about doping in the past, saying he would be a 'worm' to betray the trust of his parents, who supported him in developing his career. that's more convincing that 'i've never tested positive'.
Apologies to Nibali if he is indeed clean, but it's fairly pointless using an argument like that given what we've heard before (and not just from Armstrong).

Nail meet hammer. Strong echoes of Tyler Hamiltons denial on the life of his then wife, Haven, and the grave of his dog tugboat from 2004.Chuck wrote:Apologies to Nibali if he is indeed clean, but it's fairly pointless using an argument like that given what we've heard before (and not just from Armstrong).
Or in 1998 Eric Ryckaert, team doctor to Festina, who swore on the heads of his children that he had no part in that team’s doping.
Sadly we cannot rely upon words & tests only reduce, not eliminate the possibility of doping. In the end we can only hope that history does not repeat

Can see Cadel falling off the podium over the next 2 days. Uran and co are going to go for broke.
Couldn't believe earlier in tonight's coverage when the commentators were saying Cadel looked smooth and Nibali all over the place. I thought the complete opposite. Nibali looked comfortable and smooth from the get go.

Mind you, he's still doing damn well. Came into the Giro under prepared, ansd written off by many. There are two stages where he has lost time, but has still remained in 2nd place on GC and 2nd in the Points classification (by 4 pts to Cavendish) in what has been VERY testing conditions.
Nibali is super strong and deserves to win.
Cadel is still positive and upfront, and not blaming others, so whilst saddened a bit by todays outcome, still very happy for him and hope he stays in 2nd.
GO CUDDLES !!!!

Nibali apparently put out 6.5W/kg which is certainly in suspicious territory. Looks like the gloves are off after Sky's performance in 2012.
