That's the Armadillo Race Team issue bike. One tough nut of a bike with a few spare gears in case.

Unfortunately the ebay add title has now been changed, makes my post rather irrelevant

Gosford way - and might have a few decent parts on it.

Hope someone in the Hunter/L. Macq. area got it. Would have been a bit of a drive to pick up, even from Hornsby, so didn't go too far. If so, dead curious as to what's on it, and whether the frame's gas pipe. :|
Hi Frailer5,

It's Ok but a bitza as pointed out by TedDancin:
  • Suntour Cyclone cranks, mixture of 105 and 600 pieces.
  • Cinneli bars and stem.
  • Campagnolo Lambda Strada V wheels and Dura Ace hubs.
But the frame! It's a mess paint wise so no idea what it is. It seems to be on par, build wise, with my Paino - might even be a bit lighter. The only thing I can see, underneath the multiple coats of spray, brush paint and overspray on everything is an orange/silver checkerboard pattern on the top tube.

Cheers,

Mark S.
After getting most of the spray and brush paint off found that it had previously been painted but underneath that is a red/orange Olmo :-)

I think this guy must of been smoking his crack pipe when he listed this up.

An Olmo eh? Has it got pantos on the head stock or is it one of those Italian - "we build em you name em" - frames?

Why is it that some people think NOS bicycle parts should be worth as much as a cheap second hand car? How can a tiny bit of machined metal get to be so valuable. Melted down it's worth how much, 50c? It doesn't compute.

No bids last week at $50. This week went for over $100. Any one here?

Particularly when it was pressed steel, bottom end stuff to begin with.

That has got to be a typo! He missed the decimal point twixt the 79 and the 50. That would make it more realistic (and in line with the not cheap but possibly realistic prices on his other stuff)
If someone pays that I have a couple of slightly used ones to sell at $5000.00

Was thinking that myself when I was checking his sales for other outrageously priced stuff.

A German would wonder why there are so many digits after the decimal comma, and then wonder why it was multiplied by 00.

No pantos. Just the ghost's of Olmo decals in the original paintwork, a "Made in Italy" decal and part of an Oria tubing label.

Nice pickup. If I was living down there I would have driven up there using the timeless old excuse; "hey kids, do you want to go see a circus up near Gosford way?"

They fall for it and you are so full of lust with your new purchase that any winging and screaming on the way home is some how tolerable.

"They must have moved it during the week, bugger."

"Hey Harriet, hold the steering wheel while I just check what's under this bottom bracket"

Nice pickup indeed. Though tempted, was not 'domestically' well situated for another incoming right now. Has 'peddles'. Must have had fleabay on the brain.

This_Campy/Nitto bits in Adelaide looks to have a reasonable kick-off price. I assume it still has an RD hanger. :| Nicely lugged. looks about 56cm.

Seems you're right, listing has been edited to show BIN 79.50GBP. Was wondering what all the fuss was about.

I think ironhanglider is onto it. Seller may have keyed price using a particular currency formatting not compatible with that eBay locale: "79,50" rather than "79.50".

More of a general query this one...

I've been looking at a few of the frames this guy has for sale: vintagepartseu | eBay

There seems to be a lot of listings at first glance, but if you dig, a lot of things are listed at least twice, albeit for the same prices. Something seems NQR. Whaddyareckon?

Without having looked - maybe listed in different countries e.g. .eu and .au?

It seems to all show up on ebay AU in a search, so I don't think it's that.
