I've started riding out of Beach Rd for 40 odd Ks every weekend.
Looking for similar (quality roads, safer, less traffic and mainly flat).
Something with a view and nice feel as opposed to riding on a highway.
I want to be able to drive out of Maidstone to get to this spot.
Appreciate your posts.

Not sure what's close to maidstone or what you consider a reasonable drive is from there...
Check out http://www.cyclingprofiles.com.au/HTM/V ... pular2.htm for distance and profiles of popular rides around Melbourne (other tabs have good rides too).
I believe there are some good rides around the Gisborne/Woodend area including Mt. Macedon.
Out east, Yarra Boulevard is good for some laps (though the road is pretty rough), or you could do the tour de burbs route: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Al ... he-suburbs

Thanks, cycling profiles is good but most rides are climbs. I'am a flat rider
Also about Yarra Boulevard, I need a clean tarmac.
As for what I think is a decent drive from Maidstone, lets just say 30 K's Drive would not e hard if there was a spectacular ride ahead
