E-Petition to Brisbane City Council

Postby Robyn_P » Thu May 30, 2013 1:37 pm

Hello all

I have an e-petition running to Brisbane City Council to try and get lights installed along the Coorparoo/Norman Park bike path for safety on the Brisbane City Council website http://www.epetitions.brisbane.qld.gov. ... ew/pid/103" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There is currently little to no lighting posing risks towards the safety of cyclists, walkers/runners and animals in the area. As a daily cyclist using the bike path for commuting, I have personally had near misses with runners in the dark who are not visible until in close range. I have also felt insecure about my personal safety. Installing lights will increase the safety of those using the pathway as well as potentially attract others to use the path who may not currently use it due to inadequate lighting.

I'd really appreciate any assistance in the following ways;
- sign the petition
- share on social media accounts
- forward to your networks

Thank you all,
Robyn

Done!
Know the area and yes, lighting is the reason I ride the road instead of the path in that area.
Good petition!!!
Loving my Merida's and working towards adding a Pinarello to the stable... Go go go...
