Cyclist collides with bus - Hobart

Cyclist collides with bus http://www.themercury.com.au/article/20 ... -news.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A 49-YEAR-OLD male cyclist is in a critical condition in Royal Hobart Hospital following a collision with a Metro bus.

The cyclist was travelling north on Main Road, Granton, on Thursday evening when he collided with the bus.

It is believed the collision occurred when the bus overtook the cyclist.

Police would like to speak with any witnesses, or any persons who may have seen the cyclist, who was riding a black carbon fibre bicycle, or the Hobart to Bridgewater Metro Bus travelling north along Main Road Granton between 5.10pm and 5.30pm.
Is it just me or did the BUS run into the cyclist? The headline reads that the cyclist is at fault

1.5 meters maters!!!!

The report doesn't say, but I hope the bus is ok :roll:
It doesn't get easier, you just get slower

You can always tell the journos bias from articles like this. In my line it's "Train collides with car". I musta missed the email about the fleetwide refit when the steering wheels went in :roll:
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

The bus driver and all the passengers were wearing their seat belts and helmets
