uhmm why ? i dont think its the right mentality.

Preston and Eliz seems to be the tip when it comes to Gels. Just take it home and throw it in the bin.
What's so hard about sticking it back in your pocket or sandwich bag or just carry newspaper which you can get free with you. Wrap it on that and stick it back in your pocket.
Or go the extra distance to MC Donalds or Servo at pressy and chuck and it in the bin.

or will that slow down the avg speed of the ride....

Set a good example and pass it on to others.

Yeah I know, filthy. I generally put finished ones in the drink bottle that I've consumed - otherwise in a plastic bag in the jersey pocket. But now I don't use the gels any more. Don't stop at Elizabeth Drive anymore either! I remember the first times I rode the M7, those hills would murder me. Not any more.

Hi fellow riders.

This is my first time and first ever post on this forum. It's sad that the first post is regarding the safety/danger issues that most M7 riders are already aware of.

A friend of mine rode this morning and spotted this on the Simms road entrance.

Whoever did this obviously intended for someone to get hurt.

These traps better not be making a comeback . I've only just got to the point where I don't (always) freak out at the sight of a spider web across the path

Report it to the police. It's a criminal offence to set a man trap. The police have been very responsive to these complaints in the past.

Did anyone see the pedestrian down near horsley drive yesterday, went riding this morning with my club and was told about this, apparently poor pedestrian was in a neck brace and was bloodied.

Hi all, my cycling group and I came across the accident and assisted in slowing down oncoming traffic as it was on the blind corner near the equestrian centre. It was actually a cyclist down and not a pedestrian, he was in pretty bad shape as he had facial injuries but was conscious and was able to communicate well with the riders providing first aid and the ambo's when they asked him questions etc.

Not really sure how it happened as no other riders were involved in the accident (he was riding with 4 other friends) but just remember to take care and slow down when coming from the straight at the equestrian centre into the corner at the horsley drive underpass.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone know's how the injured rider is going.

Today there is horse manure everywhere between Horsely Drive and Cowpasture Road!

It is filthy. Totally disgusting.

Reported it to the m7 control centre so they should clean it up fairly soon.

I don't mind the smell, but it is the sheer audacity of leaving that mess behind over such a large area.

It seriously had to be from more than one horse. Or that horse needs to see a vet. Way more than one nag's quota. We were actually wondering if someone had taken their herd of cows from one paddock to another, via the pathway.

You needed to keep a good eye out to dodge it. ...And also don't follow anyone too closely.

The chicken sheds smelled more that the manure.



Well done for reporting it - I had better figure out how to contact the M7 Control for the future.
