Hate filled anti cycling blog

I saw this on BSNYC the other day and was absolutely horrified, not so much at the fact that one completely ignorant fool should be dead against cycling, but at the degree of hatred and paranoia he displays. I can only hope that we don't have people quite as crazy and deluded as this in Australia.

Sad but true.
There are some ex pros where I live who have cycled all over the world.
Just today one told me Australia is the worst place for attitudes amongst road users.

Keep in mind that this is a country where more than half the population still believe that God created the earth only 6000 years ago and the dinosaurs never existed.

They even have a 'creation museum', visited each year by thousands of people, where they learn how evolution is fake, Noah really did save the animals and recent tornado's are caused by gay people....

I agree his idea that cyclists are part of some conspiracy to bring the western world to it's knees by riding slowly in front of cars is laughable but the utterly toxic nature of his language really gets me. I'm well used to seeing bogans commenting on online newspaper articles about the need for cyclists to pay rego etc etc but saying as this American guy does that "people should not feel sorry when a cyclist is killed because it's their fault" is something else. We need to understand that there is at least one person out there who hates cyclists THAT much, and make sure that kind of extreme hatred doesn't take root here.

Not all cyclists are peace loving, limp wristed, procrastonators. Some riders are real volent people of resource & action. This sort of retoric could get this person/people into all sorts of inconvenicance.

Local bunch ride in my area may contain, on any given day, 3 or 4 Police, one cage fighter, one wrestler/ hotel owner, a bouncer, one local outlaw motorcycle gang member ....
I wont repeat any stories on here, but yes, some motorists have learned the hard way, that you should respect cyclists.
