I've got an RT Sport hanging up in the garage waiting in the project queue - if he gets $450 for his I'm off to get some bar tape and valve lights and it goes to the top of the queue!bychosis wrote:But it's got a custom saddle and bar tape and led valve lights. Yeah, same reaction here. Spiffy. I assume that's some kinda Tange tubing, by the looks of the sticker. And what you can see of the fork crown looks nice too. People have no idea about taking bike happy snaps.QuangVuong wrote:If that were nearer to me, I prob get it for it looks cool.

Just a smidgen small for me.
Interesting history, and the guy sounds genuine. Do-able from Sydney, (Lake Macquarie); take a cut lunch, though. If it were a size up, and $150...

Been advertised for a while now, saw it a while ago. Might be negotiable by now.frailer5 wrote:Yeah, same reaction here. Spiffy. I assume that's some kinda Tange tubing, by the looks of the sticker. I'd say undercoat but it's gloss!singlespeedscott wrote:What's with the battleship grey paint job?Clydesdale Scot wrote:Vintage Austral Bicycle Cyclo 3 speed
He's also made the Oppy gear less useful (and much less valuable unless you take it off the frame and rebuild it). There is a reason for the 'back throw' on the Oppy mount, it gets it nearer the close range cogs and thus a better change with the short arm which has a spring return instead of the double cable. The position of that braze-on looks like it is positioned for a standard Cyclo, i.e. too far forward for an Oppy. I reckon it will still work (if a bit clunkier than normal with more lever movement) but have no advantage over a standard Cyclo and with much less gear range.
Cheers
Richard
PS oh yes, and IMHO the price is several hundreds of dollars optimistic!

Bingo !
Item is located in the UK.
Ideal for any long-legged retrophile Aussie patriot Repco-phile who is heading over to celebrate the TdF.
Just match up with a few wheels, a groupset (preferably D12), some bars and saddle.
Then cross channel to France.
Saves the hassle of flying a bike halfway across the world.
