Do I recognise this from L'Eroica Beechworth? From memory you abandoned the rock strewn dirt roads for the bitumen fairly early on (in retrospect a wise move).

Yes your correct, finished the last 30km on the bitumen. I'd already had one puncture and didn't have another spare tublar so didn't wont/need to risk more rock strewn dirt roads.Johnj wrote:Do I recognise this from L'Eroica Beechworth? Next year at the very least I'll have clinchers, if I could be bothered doing the L'Eroica again. Might even do the Medio Fondo 85km on the Scapin (instead of full blown uber light carbon thing this year)

I can't imagine a better classic set-up. A great frame complemented by top notch components.Pinarello Vintage wrote:

Thanks...I don't expect many to like it too much as I understand 'funny bikes' are not to everyones taste
I didn't really record the build unfortunately...just a few pics of different handlebar and wheel setups
I initially wanted to go with a Dura Ace but, strangely more Italian parts have been finding their way onto it
This pic is more recent with quite a few different parts...sadly the poor interior lighting doesn't show off the paint to well
It's not period correct but, it will be eventually

Next project was to be a 1990 Peugeot Izoard, which only needs new wheels, a clean and a service, but I may just sell as is because it is a 62 frame, way too large for me.

Im in the middle of restoring a pair of Ambrosio disc wheels for my funny bike bike project. This photos a bit dodgy but it gives the general direction its heading in.

Normally I don't really go for funny bikes but that one just makes me weak at the knees, it looks so good .PANZR wrote: Thanks...I don't expect many to like it too much as I understand 'funny bikes' are not to everyones taste

Hey! That's an old frame of mine, I'm glad to see it getting the treatment it deserves.adam_b83 wrote:I like it.PANZR wrote: Thanks...I don't expect many to like it too much as I understand 'funny bikes' are not to everyones taste

no way! how long did you have it for/where did you get it? do you have photos of how you built it up? ive been trying to hunt down some info on its history. it was built by kenevans for beasley in the mid 80's but that all ive discovered so far. p.s, the white paint on the forks was so thick!
