@rhubarb: i lol'd. the solution is just to remake an identical segment with a slightly different name. the flag applies only to the individual segment, not the location. when you make a new segment it will re-populate itself and you will get your kom back, albeit with a slightly different name.

I think that is the best part of Strava.... your rides "endure". It has been pretty silly how many segments are created when they don't add value to the experience - there are dozens of repeated segments on the M7, and your PRs don't carry over to new segments, so you look like a badass without due cause... I've had 3 rides on the M7 averaging 100 trophies per ride. That's just silly.

I got one of those "you have lost your KOM to ... " emails, only to again find that someone has claimed it by driving it in a car. No problem, this has happened many times, all you need to do is to go in and flag the ride. Mostly its just people who have been for a ride, then put the bike in the car and drive home with their GPS still recording. So by flagging their ride, they can go in and crop it to delete the last bit where they drove it.

Yesterday however, I was doing a bit of multi-tasking and instead of flagging the new ride, I flagged the segment, meaning its now marked as hazardous and not able to be viewed etc. Argggghhh !!! This is my only genuine uphill KOM, with a decent number of contestants. I have raised a support ticket with Strava to get it reinstated but no response as yet. What a goose I am flagging a segment as hazardous when I was the person who created the segment and was the current KOM holder !!!!!

Just send them a message via the support tab and explain the issue. They may remeday your error for you.

cheers

i clicked the button for this but i have absolutely NO idea how i'm going to do it.

looks like it will be king's park for hill repeats during the week, lots and lots of hill repeats.

and then 2000m days on the 3 weekend days. :D
I did the same. Luckily it's during my holidays. Just have to convince my wife that its a good idea that I do 3 x 5hr + rides in a week. :)

I'm aiming for 3 rides up Mt Nebo-Mt Glorious-Clear Mountain/Camp Mountain. Depending on time constraints I might try to bang it out in 2 rides.

Mt Nebo/glorious would definitely by an easier way to rack up the metres. I was thinking about heading up that way first, Clear Mt. then Mt. Mee. Plenty of metres without the steep climbs.

First I've seen of it too. I must admit I've read the blurb twice now, and I'm still not exactly sure what it's meant to mean!

Cheers,
Simon.

it basically means that for Dimma's PR he's in the top 0.53% of the riders. i.e. he's a prick and you shouldn't ride with him as he'll blow you out of the water.

Haha, I'm plugging away but you've got an impressive lead on me now, well done!

Hopefully I can get more k's for June than you....the weekends meant to be fine isn't it? Doing a couple of longer training rides on the weekend...after I attempt to race at Lakeside on Sat morning!

no riding for me this weekend either (or next weekend either I'd say)

rapha rising conditioning at the moment means less kms but more climbing

I doubt that I will get the climbing done to finish that challenge but will give it a go, I'm tagging along with hubby's training program for the Cunningham Classic at the moment, doing as much of it as I can, not that I'm racing the CC this year, feel that its beyond me at this stage, something to aim for for 2014.

After CC, I'm planning on getting more climbing done to prepare for Robbie's Gran Fond at the end of September, Tambo and back of Beechmont are going to be interesting!

got the email for the tour tune-up t-shirt today

if it was the rapha rising t-shirt, I'd probably get it. but a t-shirt for riding 30 hours in 2 weeks?

yes it is also a bit expensive if going by the Battaglia in Montagna challenge jersey. Got stung an extra $20 delivery on top for that. Not going for the T so wont know if the delivery fee is similar.

Maybe the logo should be a pic of a snail instead lol
