Scott Foil Rear Light?
Postby trippyho » Sun Jun 30, 2013 8:30 am
I have just purchased a new Scott Foil and just want to ask other Scott Foil owners what rear light do you use to attach to the frame / seat post?
All my current rear lights don't fit on the ero frame, and I can't find anything online that might work. Any suggestions / recommendations? I do a lot of early morning training rides and need one for the cold dark winter mornings. Btw a saddle bag is out of the question as I carry everything in a tool bottle, so attaching one onto a saddle bag is a no go for me
So any help welcome. Thanks in advance

I use a Lezyne Micro Drive Rear light - the elastic band easily wraps around the post.

(not the cheapest - but i personally quite like it )

Have you got a photo by any chance? Want to see how it looks on your foil? And is it bright enough?LinzOC wrote:I use a Serfas Thunderbolt (with the elastic wraparound) with the bottom of the light resting on the lip of the downtube.

Sure do, but cannot work out how to attach them. Brightness is bloody good, easy to see at quite a distance.trippyho wrote:Have you got a photo by any chance? Want to see how it looks on your foil? I can get another one further back if needed.

Thanks for the picture. I ended up ordering the same light (serfas thinderbolt) based on how neat it attaches and reviews.LinzOC wrote:trippyho wrote:Have you got a photo by any chance? Might look into the fizik seat light integration a bit later down the track once I have a bit more money.
Thanks for all the responses

Any chance you could measure the distance C-C between those two mounting bolts?open roader wrote:And if you don't have a Fizik saddle (damn handy that Fizik clip in backet) then Cateye have a saddle rail bracket mount RM-1 which keeps your light tucked awayneatly, nice and high for better visibility and well away from tyre fling.

I knew mine wasn't the only one that needs a wash!LinzOC wrote:trippyho wrote:Have you got a photo by any chance? Want to see how it looks on your foil? I use the Knog Frog in lime green for normal riding and if at night (full dark, no street lights around me) I use a second smart 1/2 watt (wiggle) steady light on the saddlebag. But really like the look of the comet that a mate rides with tucked under his saddle, similar to pictures on here. I'm growing up now and thinking of moving away from the saddlebag! Stuff it in the Jersey! Spare tyre taped to the seatpost.... Game on!
Enjoy the Foil, mine still makes me feel special. My backside not so much... Still searching for the holy saddle!

35mm C to C for the mounting bolts.
The clamp blocks are 77mm wide.
