No it was not dry, but it was not actively raining either...Wazza wrote:Rained here all night besides someone said that if it looked like rain they would not attend. Was it dry?
But I knew the weather would be dodgy, twas fine when i went to bed, then had to get outa bed at 2am to let the dog out and it was pouring here too.

Was going to come up for this one but I thought it would be pouring rain! That's the trouble with being a committed retro man, restored steel frames, real leather shoes, and wool jerseys are not good wet weather kit. I think I better invest in some more damp friendly gear. I don't think the climate shows any signs of change at the present! I need to adapt and risk the ridicule of my peers for selling out on my steadfast love and commitment to toe straps. But then again I may be able to just put old cleats on modern shoes, is that possible? I'm feeling better already!

Sorry, Retroman. Just trying to imagine you riding a plastic bike with plastic shoes, and modern techno-wank kit.......
hahahahahahahhaha... nope, can't imagine it.
But you are right. It wasn't the morning to be out there in a wool jersey and leather shoes.

I think the modern shoes will suffice! and maybe a gilet I still feel like a twit wearing a modern helmet (although I'm sure my bonce would be better protected in the event of a mishap) and even the great Fausto wore one some times, I'm sure Bartali had it anylised to see if it provided any advantage!

It was a good one thanks. Glorious weather conditions this morning.nigel1963 wrote:Next week for me. Have a good one.
Friendly bloke on an aero Giant showed us the Chelmer riverloop extended route.
Just a hint of fog in places. Plenty of warm early morning sun.

Yep, was a great morning Found the extra 6km this morning through the leafy streets of Chelmer fantastic. Lots of joggers on that side of town and we struck a big group of roller bladers around West Endelantra wrote:It was a good one thanks. Thanks for the nudge Wazza. Pinny sidelined while I work nights to mould four fairings that Callum was supposed to learn to do over the holidays for his school's recumberants. http://www.technologychallenge.com.au/i ... x?page=302" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Now urgent and no teenage commitment.
