Dammit. I need a 26.8. Shame that's about 20 years too inappropriate for the build.LugNut wrote:Does anybody want a 26.8 seatpost upgrade?

Looking through the sellers history, they do have some funny/inconsistent ways of supplying part specs. A similar era 600/Ultegra seat post was listed completly sans diameter and sold for $30. And currently a "2.3cm" (22.2mm?) Cinelli stem.
Hit me up via the BNA dm; I'll get an alert. If y'know, you know.

Looks like this guy has moved to Gumtree now http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/logan-ce ... 1023004203" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;munga wrote:just a heads up for any brisbane ebay bidders:

then:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/old-retro-vi ... 7675.l2557" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
i tried arranging collection, but steve was pretty lax on the replies and eventually decided he might have a crack at relisting rather than replying.
definitely a violation of policy etc.
after the buyer contacted ebay, then him, our mate steve replied with:
Dear (xxxxx),
contact me again you and Shannon will have the police on your doorstep .
- victa98
ebay has pulled his ad, and that's about it.
i've given this pro kerbsider hundreds of dollars in the last year; you might have bought bikes from him too.
i'd like to go round and poo in his letterbox, but really, not much can be done about it. just putting it out there so you all know he's a piece of work.
all i can say is, "steve, you're giving woodridge a bad name".

Ok nice enough looking frame but home in on the picture of the derailleur and r/h rear dropout! Say What is going on here!
Mercian would never let anything like that out of the shop so even with the wrap around seat stay top this looks a bit dodgy...
Cheers

The seller does say "I cannot guarantee that this is definitely the type of bike it is". You don't find seat stay clusters like that on k mart specials, I would guess it has just had a god awful bodge job done on that dropout at some point.

I put in a last minute bid and picked it up - $365 is a steal for a fully refinished EL OS Reparto Corse in my books!

Exage 'Action' components, wheels 'needing a true' and a 45 minute drive from Melbourne CBD and it gets over $300! I barley cracked $100 for two high end Raleigh Reynolds 531 frames I sold, next time I should pull some wheels and components out of the bin and triple my money. Doesn't make sense to me.ldrcycles wrote:Doesn't strike me as an unusual result, Peugeot is one of the magic words.

Perhaps, right or wrong I think people equate a bare frame with more work than a 'complete' bike. That's my best guess at least.LugNut wrote:

But like I said, Peugeot is a 'magic word', people tend to go nuts when they see it.

He's been trying to sell that for AAAGES, surely eventually he will work out it will be much better to separate the parts, that asploded fork is putting everyone off .im_no_pro wrote:

The wheel put me off before I even noticed the forks. Pretty sure upon closer inspection that the rim is seperated as well as appearing to be buckled beyond salvage... has a few other interesting items for sale as wellldrcycles wrote:

I'd probably have a better chance of using the forksgrantw wrote:The bell appears to be undamaged, so you'd be miles ahead on that deal!
