Get out there, Jim. You can sit with the LACC guys. We'll give you a jersey and a transfer form. We're trying to beat Dulwich Hill for the club championships this year and we're ahead so far.

Vander, you need to get your butt out there too. You're too fast to be sitting at home. Exams are over, do some work for your club.

Hey BFV what sort of training are you guys doing to compete at RAW i havn't ridden the track in nearly 20yrs and i am giving it some serious thought . I have been getting some miles in but only about 250 k a week and i dont want to look like a goose but i most likely will so don't be to harsh with a reply cheers.

Sienna, there's a grade for everyone, novices up. If you're doing 250k a week and you can ride a fixie, you can probably jump straight into Div 5 and get up to Div 4 pretty quickly. Of course, if you haven't done it for a while, have a go in Novice, where the distances between people are visible, and the competition isn't fierce.

You won't look like a goose at all. We have guys showing up who strain the seems of a 3XL, guys who show up in shy shorts, and we had a guy who forgot his kit and rode the night in a pair of skinny jeans a t-shirt (he has now been given the nickname "Levi" and assigned the race number 501).

Will you get ribbed occasionally? Yes (this is Australia). Will you get encouragement and advice from your fellow riders? Yes, lots of it. Will you have lots of fun? Yes. Will you see some really good racing? Yes.

Stop over thinking it and get on your bloody bike. This is probably the only sport in the world where first timers and world champions compete on the same field, straight after each other, and then share a sausage sanga afterwards.

Well that was fun, thanks BFV. Lots of room in Novice for a slow old guy like me, though I reckon another one of those and I'll try Div. 5. I'll work on the ratio for next time, too, I was a little spinny.

Friday night we had mikesbytes, eleri, familyguy, bigfriendlyvegan, scotto, brawlo and at least three others whose screen name I can't remember at the moment. All we need now is our glorious leader, aubicycles, and we can have a proper meetup.

Yeah, there's good spinny and bad spinny. This was the bad one, the one where you bounce out of the saddle if you push it

I thought that was you, not many cyborgs around. I just wasn't used to seeing you out of RST kit (i.e. without your "clothes" on).

Wearing civvies, long daks and fat, not what most people would have seen like me when out at the racing. :)

I'm coming out for the first time tonight too. So will have a crack in Novice or Div 5. Never raced before, done a fair bit of track time though.

I'll be on the red sparkly Bridgestone.
