Eno Pawls

Postby gururug » Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:13 pm

So..... after approx 7000km's ( Do that on a 10 speed cassette! ) my trusty 16t WI eno.... started skipping...

Will crack her open and take a look, external teeth seem to be at about 85%...

Anyone knows of a shop in Syd / Online that might do PAWLS..... Quick search reveals they run at around 5pounds ( $12-$15 ) each..... I've got another one I can pinch the pawls from...

It locked up once or twice in the previous week... so best to check if this happens to you...

But isn't the entire point of an eno the fact it can be repaired?

Just an update to this one......

-New one arrived
-Pulled old one apart

Seems it may have been filth ( major cause ) rather than pawl wear ( minor cause / effect ). Not to self, Maintain my shiznit!!!

Image attached ( also, the teeth seem more liek 60-70%WORN rather than the 80%NEW I originally guesstimated.... So new freewheel wasn't total money burn.

Will kerosoak'n'lightgrease the lil fella and see if he kicks back into action!
