RACQ clarifies cyclists and motorists’ road-share rules

Postby sumgy » Sat Jul 13, 2013 6:00 pm

http://www.racq.com.au/about_us/news_an ... hare_rules" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also on their Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/racqofficial" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Which has brought out the same old tired arguments that we should pay rego etc etc etc.
Some serious lack of understanding of the road rules shown in the Facebook comments.

Loved the comment from the guy who tried to pay rego but had his cheque returned.

He may be a poster on this forum.

The actual page was well done IMO.
It's almost worth logging into faceache just to troll a little, almost.
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Ironic that a motoring organisation is doing a better job of advocating cyclist's rights than most cycling organisations :roll: .

Responding to people like Vicky is much like banging your head against a brick wall, but with less chance for reward.
People like this actually believe what they say. Checking the facts is not something they are likely to ever do, even when those facts are quoted for them verbatim. They'll just deflect the argument to something else.

Is it just me or have there been a large amount of posts deleted. Looks like the woman has realised she was being a clown and has retracted her comments.

All of the replies to her posts have gone when she deleted her own posts.

I wonder if RACQ deleted her, probably thought she was being too much of a moron motorist.

I'm a bit sad that lady is gone. I WAS looking forward hiding under my bridge today :(
Oh Yeah. Bit mean to say she's unhinged people, poor form. The correct descriptor is "bat shed crazy". :twisted:

Reading the comments gave me flashbacks of childhood TV "Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic Mirror, tell me today, have all my friends had fun at play? I can see Stephen and Jason and John and Phillip and ...." :mrgreen:
