Where to find gum hoods?

Postby aleg75 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 11:09 am

Hi All

I did some searching around (in here and google) and am having no luck on finding Gum Hoods, are they easy or hard to find?

And how I am best to trace them, is it as easy as going to a bike shop and asking.......or sitting on ebay all day waiting for some to pop up?

OK, enlighten my ignorance.

What's a gum hood?

And, yes I have refrained from adding my own interpretations!

Also try Loose Screws for those hard to find retro parts. They have got gum hoods; Weinmann-type and the less common Dura-ace and SunTour hoods.

Yes, that's what I bought from them for my 81 Cecil Walker. But I got the black ones, they last longer I believe.
