I would say that Froome has the GC sewn up, barring something dramatic happening, such as what happened to Valverde..

I would say TVG, considering his startling efforts in the individual TT and Alpe d'Huez, is really a single player and not a team player.
He is probably only a team player if he is the key person in the team and everybody is supporting him..

thanks KL :)

AFAIK he's going to lead the team for the Giro... I can't see Porte leading Sky at the Tour any time soon... Froome has already stated he wants to dominate for the next 6-7 years ....

Yep he will the Giro until Wiggo or another Brit wants the lead and he will be back into domestic duties

I'm really looking forward to tonight's stage to see what happens in the race for 2-4th positions. Short stage too.

Tomorrow's starts and finishes waay too late to watch it live.

uh, this could be a boring decade. Hopefully he stays well clear of the giro.

It won't be... Next year you have: Froome, Contador, Nibali, Quintana and not to mention the rest

That reminds me, what about Wiggo? Is he going to be wanting back in as team leader for next year?

If Froome has balls he'll tackle the giro

Quintana is still young but he would be able to stand toe to toe with Froome for years to come

Wiggo will never ride the tour again... And I doubt he will lead sky at the giro again and flat out refuses to do the Vuelta

Great finish to a fantastic race. Jens Voight's crack was absolutely fantastic also - he's a class act.

Maybe it's me or maybe it's just that froomey has had so many post stage win interviews - he seems so smug or disingenuous...

Quintana is very composed on the hills. There is no pumping of the shoulders or wobbling around all over the place like a drunk.

I hope it is the start of a journey to greatness, that we have witnessed here, with no surprises. :)

Quintana is a great climber.
He is losing time in the tt's at the moment though. He is only 57 kg and 166 cm according to wikipedia.
Hard to see how he will improve his strength in the tt without adding significant weight. Can only hope though he's great to watch.

You know what might be interesting for a couple of the climbing stages if they did something like what motorsport or world superbikes do.
Let's take the stage where they did Alpe d'Huez twice...

It would have been interesting to have broken that stage up into 2 substages where there is a break of an hour or so between climbs.
Having a break between climbs would allow riders to eat and regenerate.

Each climb would be then more like sprint climbs .. would be interesting :!:

thanks KL :)

I found this clip of Sagan doing a no-hands wheelie up Alpe d'Huez on YouTube.

PETER SAGAN - Tour de France 2013 - Wheelie on Alpe d'Huez

Obviously he is a crowd favourite for good reason.

Love watching Quintana ride. The race needs more attacking clmbers in the Pantani mould. Obviousy their styles are totally different .. but it's fun to watch.
