Zipp 10sp to 11sp hub conversion?

I've been thinking of buying a new bike and am debating whether it's worth 'upgrading' to 11sp considering I'll be keeping my current bike (which has shimano 7900 groupset) and the wifes bike is 105 equipped, meaning we can quickly swap wheels/parts between bikes as required. Ideally I'll transfer my Zipp 303 firecrests to the new bike but it's the 2012 model 10sp variant.

Does anyone know where and how much it might cost to convert a 2012 model Zipp 188 freehub in Sydney from 10sp to 11sp? One of the bike shops in the city informed me that rear wheel rebuild would cost ~$800 which I thought was rather excessive compared to the prices listed on US websites.

If the price really is what I was (informally) quoted then it makes the 10 vs 11 speed groupset choice for any new bike a bit of a no brainer.

ZIpp supplied 2013 wheels with a narrower hub so that they'll take 11 speed freehubs (though they were shipped with 10 speed freehubs), afaik 2012 you have to source the whole hub, and changing a hub to a different one with a different width will require different spokes and the wheel rebuilt onto it, and at the moment, I wouldn't be suprised to find all 11s hubs that aren't in a wheel in the australian supply chain to be $400+.

DA 11s hub from overseas discount website is over $300.

ZIPP won't allow bike shops to do the conversion work. Wheels have to be sent back to Echelon Sports (the Aus distributor) for conversion work to be undertaken.

Bugger, seems like I'm either up for a serious pineapple or stick with a 10sp setup.

Or, can I buy 11sp shimano cassette and drop the inner most sprocket? Obviously setting the rear derailleur to not jump inboard so far and then upgrade the Zipp hubs at a later date?

The inboard sprockets will all be on the same carrier, joined together.
