So, you turned left there 'cos you knew you wouldn't get the points on No3? :P

I don't like the intersection up ahead and I can avoid it so I do. At the end of the day I'm commuting and the goal is to get to my destination safe and sound :P

I think I could have taken #3 though 8)

Cars. We can claim car scalps right?

Saw this bloke trying to creep up on me in the mirror. Challenge accepted, and stepped on it. The camera uhhmm... ran out of film just after the right turn...

I'm gonna claim a CCR win today. This morning as I was about to get onto Lorimer St from the shared path, I saw another cyclist about 200m ahead on what looked like a fast roadie with deep carbon clinchers. I normally like to 'cruise' into work, but if you dangle a carrot in front of me, I've been known to give it a go. 8)

Anyway, I closed up the gap in 500m and passed him and his Ridley Noah Fast. I said 'Morning!' but he didn't seem very happy getting passed by a fella riding a cyclocross commuter wearing regular pants and carrying a backpack.

Lots of CCR action in Perth this week as everyone prepares for this Sundays Team Time Trial Cyclosportif in Swan Valley. Still holding my own and coming out on top in the balance but getting creamed by some seriously fast guys on occasion. Tuesday didn't help when I checked the tyres in the morning and thought these will be okay, turned out they were at 80psi instead of the usual 115psi. Felt like riding through a semi dehydrated soup (which I do regularly).

I think you both missed the point (unless I did) The last few posts don't seem to be true CCR, doesn't CCR imply two people racing one another.... or have I missed something altogether... :!: :!:

I thought CCR was one guy racing, while everyone he passes is oblivious?

Bike Radar's Silly Commuter Racing

When is a race not a race? When it's CCR. I'm guilty of racing people who aren't in a race all the time, it's a training technique and adds another dimension to an otherwise mundane commute. Personally I don't get much in the way of CCR action, don't often see other riders and when I do they arent' much of a challenge becuase they are out cruising on lower ranked bikes.

I got a ripper this morning, I was riding my 54 Healing singlespeed (complete with full length steel mudguards and steel water bottle on the handlebars) in steel cap boots, jeans and a t shirt and rocketed past a lady in lycra on a mountain bike with slicks :D .

I got one yesterday....think he was a 8-10 year old on his bmx bike...he saw me coming, started pedalling hard and kept looking behind...he was worried

I upped the gears, increased the leg pressure on the pedals and dropped down into aero dynamic mode...as I flew past him I yelled out "eat my dust loser"....just kidding, I didnt say loser hahaha...ok I will be honest I didnt say anything

funny tho watching this kid start to peddle hard and look back

It's good when it's fun, not when guys throw brains out the windows and make stupid dangerous moves to try to keep ahead.

A funny memory like BMX kid I remember being a post-high school teen on MTB with friend seeing how far we could keep up with roadies as the benchmark you compare to.
I saw a couple high school teens last year girl/boy on average bikes with some work commuters around, after a downhill they must have felt good/quick.
The male teen says to female "lets catch up to the fast one", so guy starts off riding faster. Almost instantly after cranking hard he notices me in his peripheral, I had taken the road left lane to get out of the slug of bikes (shared path on right side of road in this spot).
He looks across to see my fairly obvious electric bike pedalling past them, guy sighs in futility "awww farrrk" and gives up as more riders come up on them it seemed in the moment he was making a race of it commuters of all shapes were swamping them from all directions =D
